The Lavender Story
We have lived in our home for thirty years and over that time the house has evolved from a derelict school with a caretaker's cottage and an attached animal barn. The School House was our first home thirty years ago. Touring the country to find the perfect place we stumbled upon a derelict schoolhouse in a quintessential Cotswold village. We started by converting the 18th-century buildings, formally workmen's cottages and latterly a school room for the village children. Later we were able to purchase the tumbled-down adjacent barn and transform it into a beautiful open-plan living space. As a Grade II listed building, we were lucky to have plenty of historic features to add character to our home. Situated in the picture-perfect village of West Kington, this luxurious property sleeps up to 10 guests. Only eight miles from Bath and under two hours from London.
